Surgery sucks and husbands rock!

I've been laid up for about a week. I had emblica hernia repair surgery. This is in the midst of our big house move (a week after to be exact) (another post I really promise but it's a long one).

I have to say my surgery has been longer than my c-section. But it's been simply amazing to have my belly button back. I'm also noticed a huge difference in my belly. Admittedly my belly looked like I was close to 3 months pregnant. Not a lot but enough to make me extremely self conscious. I did pack on a couple pounds but I was astonished at the shape of my belly. Post surgery it's been nice to see it flattening out. I'm also putting a good foot forward to eat better and am now 6 lbs down! Woohoo. Not a lot but progress :)

Surgery with a tiny tot is hard. Anastasia has started exploring. By that I mean she's crawling. She started roughly 2 days after we closed on our house. Great and not so great. Great in that we only have to baby proof one house and not so great in that there are so many things for her to get into right now while we're still sifting through moving boxes. They are making for some entertainment for her though. Amazing how all of the toys in the world can't captivate her, give her a box and she's good to go.

It has been a hard few weeks. Less for me and more for my husband. He's been simply amazing, my knight in shining armor really. From tending to my needs to corralling a mobile curious infant I know it was tough on him. So many times I just wanted to hold my baby girl but couldn't. He gets a few gold stars on his sheet! Okay more than a few. Husbands like these are simply put the unsung heroes of our lives. I can't express my gratitude for his help over these past few weeks.

My recovery has been slower than anticipated and Anastasia still thinks my belly is a playground, OUCH! With as much as we have going on I'm proud with how we've all managed to adjust to the very hectic and disorganized life we have right now.

Point to all of this is in the title. Surgery sucks for many reasons, the pain, how you're not able to help your spouse out with your LO and how you're limited in what you can do with your little one. Husbands simply put rock and mine is no exception. Not complaining once and always there when I needed him without pause. How did a girl and daughter get so lucky?!?
