I'm Itching to decorate, but like a good mom and adult I must pick up my 'toys' before I can start another fun activity ;). The house is coming along, I bet you're tired of hearing about it, about as tired as I am of unpacking. It doesn't help that Paul and I won this huge wagon wheel chandelier from work. It's massive! I cannot wait to re-purpose both the chandelier and the beautiful lights (roughly 18 of them likely a different outdoor project). It's making me just want to decorate!
So the wheel will either be a trim for a fire pit. I'm thinking the bigger ring could contain some mixed rocks (white and rusty colored rocks) then the inner ring we'd build up with brick on the outside. Either way we can do this with straight up brick so we've gotten a great idea no matter what. The more than likely thing we'll do with it is create an above ground planter. Probably for herbs. As you've seen we have a lot of land. So we're going to get out our survey and kind of plot out how we'd like to see the land in 5+ years. Look how organized we are ;)
I've bought fabric for the living room. We have pretty neutral colors in furniture which is great because it will allow for some beautiful accents. I'm going with a dusty blue (cornflower I believe is the correct term) and grey. I'm having a hard time with figuring out my roman shades that I intend to make. Not sure about the coloring and if I should do full patterned or partially patterned with more of a subtle appeal. Likely the latter.
Again I'm itching and at least getting out my immediate thoughts is helping. Our first project is the main bathroom. I bought a beautiful grey and black floral curtain which will be my base and inspiration for the rest. I'm thinking since the walls are white to keep them that way. Then do a black diamond shelving units with rolled up towels (TBD once we get things going) but there will be black boxed shelving. I'd like to do mosaic tile around the mirror. Replace the current medicine cabinet with an unframed mirror. I'd also love to redo the bathroom sink but I realize I'm likely getting ahead of myself. I'll post photos of that project as we approach that. And then to put my embroidery machine to use and embroider some grey and white towels.
This is also just a reminder to myself what I plan to do and what I'll actually do. Time will only tell, hahaha
