Our family got to enjoy celebrating 2 events. One was Canada day July 1st. Unfortunately there weren't any fireworks where we were for this day given that we're in the USA ;). But we celebrated in our little home by packing, non the less ;).
Saturday we enjoyed some fireworks and more packing, on top of going to a special relatives bridal shower briefly. It was an exhausting weekend, with so much accomplished. It made me kind of happy to be going to work today. Sometimes I need a break from the moving clutter :)
The fireworks were a hit. and Anastasia didn't flinch and she just loved the lights as we had hoped she would. Pre fire works she wasn't happy as she was kept up past her bedtime. But I think if she could talk I think she'd agree it was worth it.
That's my short update for now. Hoping to post sometime this week about our house and finally closing! Fingers crossed. Oh the fun DIY posts I hope to make once this is all over with. My craft stuff alone is calling my name, crying of neglect as it sits in our garage waiting to be loaded onto the moving truck.
Packing shenanigans is way harder than I thought and not all of it is because of my daughter. Half of the time I come home and just want to sit on the couch and rest. Oye!!
I look at each room and get insanely overwhelmed. To the point that I really wish magic existed and I could bipity bopity boo the packing into gear. It is a little hard especially in the afternoons when Anastasia's witching hour begins. I'd love to put her down and get what needs to get done, done. But at that time of the day she's a bit fussy and wants that attention, and frankly after a full day of work and not seeing her I want to give it to her as well.
It was times like these that I wish I had kept up with the baby wearing so that I could wear her and get things done without her having a full on melt down.
Paul and I always have these brilliant ideas that we'll put her down for bedtime (8 - 8:30) then after she's sleeping put her in her room and pack. Yeah... because that's happened. By 8 or 9 mommy and daddy want to go to sleep just as badly. With 2 weeks left to go I'm gonna have to start saying tough luck to myself.
I look at my house and find myself saying "how did we accumulate this much crap?" Well not all of it's crap some of it's 'stuff' I suppose there's a difference. Sometimes I find myself packing things I know I should throw out but I'm on auto pilot.
Wish us luck. I hope that we don't have to do a mad dash at the end like we have with every other move (childless I might add). We just can't afford to do that this time around.
Don't you just love it when you forget you have an appointment and really aren't prepared for it? As adults we adapt, our children sometimes need certain things.
We had our home inspection yesterday which is a 4 hour long inspection. Cue realizing this when the work day is half way through. I was just shaking my head, how could I forget. Ugh. We get there and Anastasia is content laying on the ground playing with her toys while I all but soaked my work shirt in sweat. Holy Moses I really wish I had planned ahead lol. Luckily there's a basement. Actually thank gosh there was a basement. We quickly relocate downstairs. I notice Anastasia needs to be changed.. I look in the bag ONE diaper left... one.. Oye She'll need at least one more change before we head home. Luckily we have extra's in the car. Phew... crisis averted (no I don't like my daughter sitting in her dirty diaper for to long, diaper rash isn't fun to deal with). We made do though and Anastasia did just fine. I got worked up before all of this went down for nothing really. I should have given my daughter more faith than I did. She really was fine and it was all mommy who was worried for nothing. She played, didn't care where, was fed, changed and watched a bit of Pirate Fairy in her Carseat. We made do and she was just fine ;)
Oh man I need to really reel in the excessive worrying at times.

Oh and the inspection went well. We're really excited that things are coming together as they are. Only time will tell but this is likely our family home. That's so refreshing to say! Anastasia added another element of laughter to the process. It's special to have her here during such a big time in our lives. For me this is huge. Looking back on where we wanted to be in 5 years I'm shocked at how much we've accomplished, a lot of it within this past year alone.
